Not Implementing A Fat Loss Diet Is Like Flushing $3000 Down The Toilet!
I used to train two types of clients, successful losers and lifetime fatties. The successful losers implement a fat loss diet along with their fat loss workouts. They typically lose about 15 pounds their first month and then the weight loss slows way down but the remaining fat comes off at a steady pace of about .5 to 1 lb. per week. They reach their fat loss goals in 4-7 months and they learn a lot of things along the way about when to be strict, when to be flexible, when to freak out and when to just relax. They realize that implementing healthy changes over time gets results that last a lifetime.
The Lifetime Fatty Refuses To Implement A Fat Loss Diet & NEVER Gets Results
The lifetime fatty thinks it’s all about the workout. They believe that exercise is going to “burn” off all the disgusting fat and nasty calories they eat daily. They think working out hard will reveal the firm toned body that they had in their early 20’s. They never bother trying to eat healthy or do anything active on days I don’t see them. These people lose about 5 pounds in the first month and then the fat loss stops. No plateau, no stalling, it just stops! They then become frustrated and ask me to “work them out harder”. I try to teach them that they need to stop resisting healthy changes but they never listen and then they start gaining weight back so they get desperate and go on the cookie diet or the Hollywood detox diet or they go get vitamin B injections or buy silly expensive devices like the bodybugg calorie management system to strap to their bodies. These people NEVER get results and it’s all because they refuse to change the way they think, eat and live. They eventually tell me that they’re just not that serious about losing weight right now so it’s pointless to renew (thank heavens and good riddance!!). These clients typically spend $3000 training with me before they realize they’re just not willing to make the changes necessary to get results. $3000 down the drain!!!... and 4 months of my time completely wasted on a client who just doesn’t want to have fun getting results. I don’t work with clients like this anymore but I did for a long time and it was the least favorite part of my job.
