3 Basic Rules of Successful Healthy Eating Plans

Having healthy eating plans is a must if you want to burn fat and lose weight but you must address 3 basic rules if you want quick and permanent results.

If your eating plan does not focus on these 3 simple rules then you are doomed to fail no matter how much you slash calories or how hard you workout.

Jayson Hunter creator of the Carb Rotation Diet shares his 3 simple rules for quick and permanent fatloss that work for real every day people.

3 Rules to Focus on No Matter What Healthy Eating Plan You Choose

According to Jayson Hunter creator of the Carb Rotation Diet your healthy eating plans don't have to be a chore but they must address 3 basic rules if you want quick and permanent fatloss results.

1. STOP skipping meals.

Skipping meals tends to cause overeating at later times during the day and also lowers the metabolism. A lower metabolism means the body needs fewer calories so when you do overeat you'll gain weight even faster. Eat 4-6 meals a day.

2. Increase intake of non-starchy vegetables.

This increases fiber intake which makes you feel fuller quicker. Additionally, vegetables are energy consumers. It takes more energy to digest a vegetable than any other type of carbohydrate.

3. Limit or avoid simple carbohydrates.

Large amounts of insulin promote fat storage and simple carbohydrates produce large amounts of insulin. You want to limit or avoid these fast digesting simple carbohydrates and focus on whole grains, vegetables, and fruits for quick weight loss.

In the video Jayson shares 3 key tips for avoiding fad diets that make you gain fat once you go back to regular eating.

How to Track Calories for Quick & Permanent Fatloss

I've been using a variety of programs to track calories, meals, and workouts, and what I've found is going to surprise you.

1. Using websites to log food intake is too time consuming.

If you're trying to increase your intake of healthy foods and decrease your intake of processed foods this is very frustrating.

Finding a processed cereal, a bagel, or a frozen "health meal" should not be easier than entering a real meal made with fresh vegetables, whole grains, and organic healthy proteins like fish.

2. Using websites to log food keeps you focused on calories vs. quality of food you are eating.

I found that no matter how much I ate some days the only times I could get my calories above 1500 was on days when I was eating low quality processed food so what does that tell you?

If you focus on eating veggies, lean proteins, healthy fats, and whole grain carbs controlling calories is easy and you don't need a program to help you do that.

3. Using websites to log food can totally distract you from your goal.

I have to confess that I totally fell in love with Spark but there were days when I spent more time chatting with members than I did planning meals and workouts.

It's easy to think you're doing something to lose weight when in reality you're just spending a bunch of time chatting with other struggling losers. I still have a membership there but I'm not using it to log food.

Here's my suggestion for tracking your calories.

Buy a cheap journal like the one I hand to all my clients when they start training with me and write it down. Try The Calorie King Food & Exercise Journal

Another great one that my clients love is DietMinder Personal Food & Fitness Journal

Writing it down will save you time and keep you focused on what matters; increasing your intake of healthy foods and minimizing your intake of processed junk (just like Jayson talked about).
