"An eye-opening report by Mission: Readiness, an organization made up of retired admirals and generals, found that 75 percent of young people are unable to join the military, and the number one reason why is obesity.
In fact, 27 percent of young Americans are too overweight to join the military, according to the report, and roughly 15,000 young potential recruits fail their entrance physicals every year because they are too heavy" reports Dr. Mercola.
I know exactly what it's like to work with somebody who failed the military entrance physical. My client Rob failed his readiness exam and was told by his recruiter that he might have a chance if he got help from a fitness expert. Now Robert wasn't overweight but he was definitely in horrible shape and his bodyfat levels were too high for a 20 year old kid.
When Rob started training with me, just 3 short rounds of 30 seconds of jumping jacks and 3-5 pushups was complete torture for him. We turned that around and in 2 short months Rob was cranking out burpees like a pro.
When Rob went back for his exam he ranked #1 in his group and his recruiter asked him for my business card (gotta love that).
Like I've said before getting fit and losing weight takes effort but it's not rocket science. You just need the right workout plan and the best workout plan to get fit for the military is TACFIT by Scott Sonnon.
Watch the video to get an idea of what you need to be doing to prepare your body for the military, law enforcement, fire rescue, or mixed martial arts.
