Kinesio Taping Method

by Monica

Got old injuries, pain, or muscle fatigue that's slowing you down or preventing you from working out? Kinesio tape can help. I recently had to see a Neuromuscular therapist about a little problem I've been having with my left hip and quad.

This awesome therapist evaluated my posture and told me that my body was in almost perfect alignment (according to her this is rare). She said my problem was due to old trauma that was being aggravated by trapeze work and working at a desk.

I told her I didn't want to stop going to class so she treated me and taught me some strategies to help my body recover/cope and then she kinesio taped my leg.

I've never been to a therapist who suggested the kinesio taping method before but I can tell you that the relief from the taping has been amazing.

If you're dealing with pain and tightness and you're already doing everything you can to keep yourself injury free (mobility, stretching, foam roller, yoga, etc. etc.) then you might want to try Kinesio Tape.

Watch the video below to learn more about how Kinesio Tape works.

I prefer KT tape
by: Monica

My first experience with the kinesio taping method was overall great but one thing that wasn't so great was the rash I had for days after I pulled the tape off.

I found a different tape and had my boyfriend use the video below to tape me again and the KT tape worked the same and didn't cause a rash.

I've used the two applications in the videos here and got the relief I needed while I was rehabbing my hip for 9 months (yes it took that long but more on that later). The neck tape was for an older levator scapulae injury.
