Toned Upper Body Workout for a Lean Sexy Feminine Upper Body
Need an upper body workout that is going to tighten and tone your arms and shoulders, lift and firm your chest, eliminate back fat and strengthen your entire upper body and core without making your upper body look bulky?
The upper body toning exercises in this workout do that and so much more. They burn fat, they improve posture, reduce stress and help you breathe more efficiently too.
All you need for this workout are dumbbells, stability ball, thera bands or flex bands, suspension trainer, a gymboss timer and about 20 minutes. My favorite thing about this workout is that you can combine it with a core or lower body workout if you feel like a longer full body workout.
This workout is from my ebook Your Best Female Figure which includes dozens of modifications and lean toned body tips for your unique body type.
Toned Upper Body Workout Instructions
Perform 10-15 reps of each exercise going from one to the next without rest. After one circuit of all 8 exercises rest for 60 seconds then repeat two more times. After your last circuit rest for 90 seconds then finish up with tabatas of the suspension trainer jumping row (20 sec. work followed by 10 sec. rest x 8)
Toned Upper Body Workout Tips: Focus on excellent technique. The upper body toning exercises with bands are not as easy as they look. If they feel too easy you're not using a hard enough band or you're doing it wrong. If you don't have a suspension trainer you can do mountain climbers or jump squats instead or jump rope too. Modify to your level, your equipment and your preferences and don't forget to have fun!
Toned Upper Body Workout Inspiration
The Toned Upper Body Workout was inspired by the functional training I've been doing with clients for many years but also by Jukari's Fit to Flex and Fit to Fly workouts (featured here).
Both are great ways to strengthen, tone, burn fat, have fun, and build functional strength without building bulk.
They're similar to aerial trapeze and pilates band workouts but different because they're a bit more practical and doable for most people. If you like the idea that you can be lean strong and have a feminine toned body you will love the results you get from this upper body workout.
